Petrobras started the early production system in the Sépia area, in the pre-salt
Petrobras have started the Sépia Anticipated Production System, previously the Northeastern area of Tupi, in the pre-salt cluster of the Santos Basin. The operation got underway with vessel platform FPSO Cidade de São Vicente, the output of which will be about 20,000 barrels of oil per day during the test period.
Installed in waters where depth is approximately 2,200 meters, the platform was connected to the 1-RJS-691 well and will remain in place for a period of 180 days.
This is the fourth Early Production System in the Transfer of Rights area of the Santos Basin. The oil produced, of good quality (26 API), will be transported by shuttle tankers.
Among other data, the Sépia Anticipated Production System aims to collect technical information about reservoir behavior and oil flow in subsea lines. This information will support the development of the final production system, expected to come into operation in the area in 2020.
Located at about 185 kilometers from the coast of Rio de Janeiro, the Sépia field had its commerciality declaration announced by Petrobras in September 2014.
Petrobras relies on several Alda Equipments solutions.
